McDowell Village Senior Living Community
Last week, I had the pleasure of visiting McDowell Village Senior Living Community and speaking with Angel Albanez, the Director of Sales. As part of our new senior concierge initiative, which aims to provide our clients and followers with comprehensive resources about senior living communities, touring local communities and gathering information is a key focus. McDowell Village is conveniently located on McDowell Road, roughly halfway between the 101 Freeway and Scottsdale Road.
McDowell Village features 207 apartments with four different floor plans and offers both Independent and Assisted Living options. Pricing for a one-bedroom apartment in Independent Living starts at $4,400 and includes a variety of services such as two chef-prepared meals daily, utilities, scheduled transportation, a fitness program, concierge services, and more. Pricing for a one-bedroom apartment in Assisted Living starts at $5,405. This includes all the services provided in Independent Living, plus additional support, but excludes Care Services Levels, which range from Base Level to Level 7. These services are custom-tailored to each resident’s specific needs based on a point system.
During my tour of McDowell Village with Angel, several aspects stood out. The first was the vibrant energy of the community as soon as I walked in. To the right of the entrance is Four Peaks, a restaurant-style dining area renowned for its wide variety of delicious dishes, boasting over 150 chef specials per month. The main hallway is adorned with lights and decorations, and the upstairs Bistro, which hosts a daily Happy Hour from 3:00 to 4:00 PM, overlooks the main hallway below.
Another aspect that impressed me was the strong sense of community and the longevity of both staff and residents at McDowell Village. Residents are encouraged to have their families visit and enjoy the amenities, such as the pool and theater. The annual Easter Egg hunt is a beloved tradition for both residents and their families. Additionally, multiple staff members have family members who also work at McDowell Village, underscoring the community’s commitment to family. The fact that many staff members and residents have been at McDowell Village for over 10 years is a testament to it being not only a great place to live but also a great place to work.
McDowell Village has also been recognized as “Best Independent Living” and “Best Assisted Living” by U.S. News and World Report, further cementing its reputation for high-quality care. The community is pet-friendly, accommodating residents who wish to bring their furry companions.
