Last week, I had the pleasure of visiting Legacy Village of Salt River and touring the community with Area Sales Specialist Becky Quinn. As part of our new senior concierge initiative, which aims to provide our clients and followers with comprehensive resources about senior living communities, touring local communities and gathering information is a key focus. Legacy Village of Salt River is conveniently located on Via De Ventura and 90th Street, close to McCormick Ranch, Gainey Ranch, the 101 Freeway, and HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea Medical Center.

Legacy Village of Salt River was built three years ago, making it relatively new compared to other senior living communities in the area. The community offers a variety of living options, including studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments, with 114 designated for Senior Living (similar to Independent Living), 72 for Assisted Living, and 30 for Memory Care. Each living arrangement comes with specific amenities: Senior Living apartments include a full kitchen, washer, and dryer, while Assisted Living units feature a kitchenette. Senior Living monthly service fees start at $3,950 for a studio. Assisted Living starts at $4,200, plus an additional Level of Care fee based on an assessment, and Memory Care starts at $7,800 per month.

Several aspects stood out to me during my tour with Becky, one of which was how light, bright, and beautiful the community felt. The courtyard off the main entrance looks like a wonderful place to spend time when the weather is nice. Legacy Village of Salt River also features unique amenities, such as a wheelchair ramp for pool access—something I haven’t seen at other communities. Additionally, the community is home to three beautiful fish tanks, and some residents have done an outstanding job of decorating the area outside their apartments, adding a ton of character to the community.

The community offers a range of activities designed around the seven dimensions of wellness: Emotional, Intellectual, Leisure, Occupational, Physical, Social, and Spiritual. Daily scheduled transportation, weekly Happy Hours on Thursdays, and live music, including a concert twice a month on Wednesdays with the ASU Music program, are just part of the activity calendar. Other activities include water aerobics, balance and strength exercises, chair volleyball, Tai Chi, men’s poker, bingo, movies, group karaoke, games, and more.

Legacy Village of Salt River emphasizes its “Personal Touch Culture,” where associates strive to make meaningful connections with residents, recognizing each individual’s inherent worth. The culinary team at Legacy Village prepares fresh, nutritious meals, served restaurant-style in their elegant dining room. This focus on high-quality dining is a central aspect of the resident experience, enhancing both social interaction and overall well-being.
